There seemed to be widespread confusion over World of StarCraft, a mod which Blizzard found to be fair game, except for the name. The project has not been canceled or anything -- just a title change, is all.

It's now being referred to as StarCraft Universe. My biggest qualm with the initial announcement wasn't the content. No, it was the (admittedly understandable) lack of clarity on what the mod would entail. We were kindly given a link to this forum post today, which details the commonly-asked questions.

The biggest surprise to me was this tidbit right here: "A total of twelve players can play can play in the same match." So, StarCraft Universe seems to be more about capturing the smaller-scale raid experience, rather than the overwhelming player base of WoW. And there's nothing wrong with that.

UK charts: Dead Space 2 spends second week up top

Dead Space 2 has earned itself a second week at the top of the UK charts, Chart-Track’s announced this morning.

The Visceral horror beat out FIFA 11 and Assassin’s Creed; Brotherhood in the top three. Treyarch’s Call of Duty: Black Ops fell to fourth and Media Molecule’s LittleBigPlanet 2 in fifth.
Other than that, it’s all movers and shakers.

inFAMOUS 2 Morality Explained; New Companions Kuo And Nix -- Trailer and Screenshots

Dragon Age II PC DRM policies detailed

Bioware’s detailed their DRM policies for the PC version of Dragon Age II, the upcoming RPG and sequel to the hugely successful Dragon Age: Origins.
The Steam version of the game would only be using Steam DRM and won’t be implementing any third-party DRM methods, no hidden stuff.
The standalone retail version however will use a more DRM-heavy approach and would require you to struggle a bit. You’ll need to be online and register a EA account when the game starts for the first time and also only 5 PCs can access the game within a 24-hour period. There’s an offline mode available but you’ll have to sign-in online after “a select period of days”.
However, there’s no disc check or limit on the total number of PC in which you can install and play the game on.
EA’s also implementing their release control system for Dragon Age 2.

Non-Steam versions (digital or retail disc) DRM policies are as follows:

No disc check, you do not need the disc in drive to play.
No limit on the total number of PCs you can install and play the game on.
There is a limit to the number of unique/different PCs that can start/play the game within a time window [5 PCs in 24hrs].
Each install requires logging in to your EA account to verify game ownership and if you are a member of these forums, you have an EA account.
You can play offline but the game will require a login check after a select period of days.

Release Control policies are as follows:

It does not install anything to the PC.
Sole purpose is to check with a server to validate whether the game release date has passed or not.
It completely removes itself after the game release date has passed.
You will not be able to play until that date has passed.
Dates & times are set to the retail street date per country.

We must say that these are very lenient and dare we say, convenient DRM policies and we feel are required to ensure the maximum security of their titles. They’re by no means as intrusive as the DRM policies implemented by companies like Ubisoft and hopefully, gamers won’t have many complaints with these.

Homefront on PC to contain extra features

Homefront soon launches on Steam for PC, and Kaos Studios have recently unveiled a series of new features specific to the PC port of their upcoming FPS. Supposedly all vehicle controls will be more precise with the ability to view the vehicular action from either a first or third person viewpoint. Flight controls are also adjustable across three levels of difficulty that can increase manoeuvrability at the expense of making flight a little bit more tricky.
A practice mode is also lined up so you can work on your driving/piloting skills outside of online play. Joystick support is also part of the package for all vehicular sections. Community features are also at their peak on PC with clan support, Squad based VOIP and Valve’s anti-cheat system. There is also promised support for dedicated servers within two weeks of the game’s launch. Combine this all with 3D support if you have the appropriate hardware, and it seems like the PC port of Homefront may well be the definitive version.
